fearfully and wonderfully made

This is a snippet of an incredible message, and incredible really downplays how good it was.    As part of Chris Tomlin's tour "How Great is Our God," Louie Giglio is speaking to a huge crowd in Atlanta about God's awe-inspiring creation.  I realized that my problems pale in insignificance in the light of God's character as revealed in His creation.   Giglio provides details about stars and their various sizes.  It is sobering to realize how much bigger some stars are than our own sun.  Giglio talks about a star.. in comparison.. if Earth were a golfball, this star would be the size of Mt. Everest.  He also includes discussion of the DNA molecule and its fascinating functions.  There is a protein called laminin. It literally holds our cells together--and so, by implication, it holds our very selves together. Amazingly, it is shaped like a cross.  Psalm 33:13-15; 18-22 reads this: "From high in the skies God looks around, he sees all Adam's brood. From where he sits he overlooks all us earth-dwellers. He has shaped each person in turn; now he watches everything we do... Watch this: God's eye is on those who respect him, the ones who are looking for his love.  He's ready to come to their rescue in bad times; in lean times he keeps body and soul together. We're depending on God;
he's everything we need. What's more, our hearts brim with joy  since we've taken for our own his holy name. Love us, God, with all you've got— that's what we're depending on
." (Msg).  He has made us a promise, for those who trust in Him, He will literally hold them in His hand and carry them all the days of their life.  He is a universe-maker and a heart-former, but He is a God who is intimately acquainted with all the circumstances; and He promises you, whatever comes in this life time, however difficult the road, however dark the night, He will hold on to you, and literally hold you together and carry you through any and every circumstance that ever comes your way at any moment on this planet!  That is the promise of God!

I'm going to be looking for this series on DVD....
