Another Friday's Fave. Five!

It's finally Friday [another celebratory dance!] so that means it's time to reflect upon this week and acknowledge those things that were like sunshine on a cloudy day. Click HERE to visit Susanne at "Living to Tell the Story" and link up to share your Friday's fave five or to read others.

1. First Comes Love, Then Comes Malaria
I finished this book last week. As we were perusing through Border's Books, Mom brought me this, [maybe half-jokingly, maybe not] and I bought it! Author Eve Brown tells the story of the adventures and misadventures of her life in the Peace Corps in Ecuador and in the remote bush of Africa. It's candid, it's funny, it's fascinating, and [among other things] I learned that overseas, people don't iron their clothes just to kill the wrinkles, but to kill the nasty bug eggs that settled in their briefs and britches while drying on the line.

2.
Baby Mal
I haven't seen my nieces in a few weeks, and I'm missing them very much!

3.
Scarves
In less than 24 hours, I sold 25 of 40 silk Cambodian scarves as a fundraiser for my next trip to Cambodia. They are so beautiful that they are practically selling themselves!

4.
Morning Bible Time
School has finally begun, and I have been desperately trying to regain all the discipline I lost over the summer; my early morning starts have been so rewarding as Scripture has really been
hitting it on the head this week. Part of my devotions this morning came from 1 Corinthians 2

When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.
1 Corinthians 2:1-5 (NIV)

5.
Water
In the last week I have been a dedicated water drinker, and now five days in a row I have surpassed the recommended daily water consumption amount of eight eight-ounce glasses. I always carry a 32 ounce Nalgene water bottle with me, and it really isn't a big feat to drink it twice, but I sure am proud!

As a side note:
Friday's NOT fave. five includes [and at this point of the day, is still limited to:] Computer problems!!! Rawr.

Love those scarves. You should sell them online!

I'm trying to drink more water, too. They say it's so good for us...

Have a great week ahead.

It seems we are all very impressed with your water drinking! Zumba, water, and stairs = great discipline! That verse is wonderful; you must be preaching or something. With Christ in you, He will use you!
Can you post more pictures of the scarves? They are beautiful!

Those scarves are really lovely. How exciting that you sold so many of them so quickly.

Good for you for the water drinking. That is something I continuously struggle with. Maybe I should start carrying a bottle around too. Couldn't hurt. :v)

The bug eggs in the underwear made me shudder but it does sound like an interesting book.
